What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a type of therapy that uses trance - a conscious state that's between being fully alert and soundly asleep. You will be guided into the ultra-relaxed trance state and whilst in this state your subconscious mind is much more open to positive suggestions. Consequently, your unhelpful ways of thinking can be challenged, reprogrammed and eradicated.
Your subconscious mind is responsible for forming new habits, beliefs and emotional responses both positive and negative. Therefore as hypnotherapy opens up communication between your conscious and subconscious mind, it’s very successful at transforming and eliminating unwanted habits and thought patterns that are dragging you down.

In a typical hypnotherapy session, you are going to experience a highly relaxed state coupled with new and revealing insights into what's been blocking your path. In between sessions is where the real magic occurs, as this is where the greatest change most frequently happens!

What happens in sessions?
A typical hypnotherapy session is an hour long, and usually opens with a chat. In the first session we will chat about what you need help with and then hypnotherapy will follow. The first session will be a little longer than an hour, as I need to ensure that I gather as much information as I can about your issue and how you perceive it
Subsequent sessions will focus on easing symptoms, releasing unhelpful beliefs or traumatic experiences and making impactful transformations. Your programme of hypnotherapy sessions will be bespoke to your and your specific needs. This will all be done at your own pace and I will explain as much or as little about the process as you wish, in my calm, informal and compassionate manner.
When will I see results?
You will begin to notice shifts in your outlook during, after and between sessions. These changes in your mindset will bring about the transformation you are seeking, resulting in you feeling fully empowered when tackling that problematic issue.
The change will become permanent as long as you're focused on taking the steps required to make it deep and lasting. This means you will receive short activities to work on in between sessions, that are inspired by your goal and responses in sessions. Hypnotherapy is a wonderfully transformative and life changing tool, when you give yourself over to the process.
Prices of programmes
The first session takes approximately 90 minutes with subsequent sessions lasting for an hour. Most clients require 3 to 4 sessions to work on an issue, and for a programme of this length you will certainly experience very noticeable changes.
For example, a client I recently helped with anxious thinking, disturbed sleep and hypervigilance required 4 sessions in which we worked on easing anxious symptoms, releasing trauma and reframing negative responses. Numerous CBT and counselling sessions had failed to help her, yet she was soon sleeping for lengthier periods and feeling much more relaxed, so much so her husband was even singing my praises!
The price for a fantastic, life changing result like this is £379 for a block of 4 sessions. For longer programmes lasting 6 - 8 sessions, prices start at £567 and if you'd like to add on Whatsapp support, workbooks and audio recordings then please do enquire further.
Where can I receive hypnotherapy?
As I offer a bespoke service, and I work with predominantly mums I can offer you a choice of places to receive your therapy. You can choose from a therapy room I often use on an ad hoc basis on the Harrogate Knaresborough border, your own home or on zoom.
